116 – Grief (for KG)

Grief

In what boxes are we to bury

dead marriages, once vacant

tombs found filled?

What solemn graveside

eulogies do we recite

for empty nests,

for failed friends?

What graves?

Look close: how empty

is Chiron’s boat,

riding high at anchor

on the far shore.
